ROKU ON HOTEL WI-FI

Get Your Roku Onto Hotel Wi-Fi the Easy Way.

Hotel networks with sign-in pages defeat most streaming sticks. Remote for Roku gives you the keyboard and D-Pad to navigate setup from your iPhone.

Works over Wi-Fi · no pairing · no original remote required

Step by step

How to fix it: Roku on Hotel Wi-Fi.

Each step takes seconds. No original remote, no pairing code, no account required.

  1. Use a travel router or hotspot

Captive-portal hotel Wi-Fi cannot authenticate a Roku directly. Connect the Roku and your iPhone to the same travel router or phone hotspot so they share one private network.

  2. Open Remote for Roku

On that shared network, launch the app. It discovers the Roku over SSDP and connects with no pairing.

  3. Navigate setup with the keyboard

Use the app's keyboard to enter the travel router's network name and password on the Roku, instead of a slow on-screen D-Pad search.

  4. Control as normal

Once online, drive the Roku with the full D-Pad, OK, HOME, BACK, and volume keys — useful when the hotel's own remote is locked down or missing.

Common questions

Roku on Hotel Wi-Fi — your questions answered.

Can Remote for Roku connect my Roku directly to hotel Wi-Fi?
Hotel networks use captive sign-in pages that a Roku cannot complete on its own. The reliable path is a travel router or phone hotspot that both the Roku and iPhone join, after which the app controls the Roku normally.
Why will the app find my Roku at home but not in a hotel?
ECP discovery needs both devices on the same private network. Many hotels isolate guest devices from each other, which blocks discovery — a travel router restores a shared subnet so the app can see the Roku.
Is the app useful with a hotel's built-in Roku TV?
If the hotel Roku TV is locked to a managed profile, control may be restricted by the property. On your own Roku connected through a travel router, Remote for Roku provides the full button set.
